Thought this may be relevant, if not, ignore it.
As a blind person I'd be glad to see some text based audio software, we can't
use X windows, so drawing waveforms or clicking cut points is out of the question.

Subject: Are you interested in audio editing under Linux?

Hi Folks: A number of people have been discussing the design and
implementation of an audio wave editor for Linux. We have had enough
ideas floated that I decided it would be a good time to set up a
mailing list.

If you are interested in helping develop a text based full featured
wave editing system for Linux, you might like to subscribe to the
mailing list. You can send a message to listserv@braille.uwo.ca with
a line in the body of the message like this:

subscribe awesome YourFirstName YourLastName

We need people that are experienced with audio packages to help make
sure we cover all the bases. We need people that have good ideas on
how a user interface should work. And last but not least, we need
people that have experience programming in "c". If you think you
would be interested in this project, please sign up.

This is a long term project, which means we probably won't have a
working prototype soon. Hopefully though, when we do have something
to show it will be fairly well designed. If you have any questions
feel free to write me at kirk@braille.uwo.ca.

  Kirk
