Dear Mr. Camel.   I think the problem is that hardware and DSP power needs to be

in place before any of that can happen with ALSA.  Pro Audio I/O woudl require 8

channels streaming in through something, and that isn\'t commonplace, nor 
necessarily open source friendly.  Look at Ensoniq\'s PARIS system to set your 
sights.
