Couple of days ago I've received ESS Maestro-2 based sound card.
Due to lack of drivers for the thing I'd like to start writing
one (as soon as I pass all my exams :).

I'm working on one, too.

Are there any datasheets for the chip available ?

Yeah, but it's not complete (read: I can't get anything but the mixers
working with it).

  ftp://ftp.esstech.com.tw/PCIAudio/Maestro2/Document/DSMaestro2.pdf

There's a better document I and a couple others are working on to try and get.

I guess I should put my Maestro2 code up, where people here (I don't figure
it's Ready For Prime Time if all that works are mixers) can use it.
